The Mitchell family has a longstanding legacy in Alameda, spanning three generations of dedicated healthcare practitioners. Alan Davis Mitchell, the paternal grandfather, served as a beloved Alameda pediatrician, holding prestigious roles such as the President of the Medical Staff to Alameda Hospital and Children’s Hospital. Recognized as an Alameda County Community Hero and the Grand Marshal of Alameda’s Fourth of July Parade, his contributions to our city were significant. Dorothy Tucker Mitchell, the paternal grandmother, was an anesthesiologist who later retired to raise her three sons, including Douglas Mitchell, who founded our dental practice in 1984.

The dental practice, with a presence in Alameda for over 40 years, has become an integral part of the community. Over the decades, we've had the privilege of treating multiple generations within families, witnessing the growth of children into parents and parents into grandparents. This extensive interpersonal network connects us deeply to the community and grants us rare and valuable insights into our patients’ health and social histories.
