Growing up, the dental office was a second home – a family affair. With my father at the helm as the dentist and my mother managing the practice, my journey here began as a baby behind the front desk. As the years unfolded, so did my role, progressing from a chart-filing elementary schooler to managing the entire practice post-university. Immersion in the practice cultivated my deep appreciation of our patients, their families, and my own family’s rich tradition of caring for the Alameda community.

Initially, my childhood aspiration was to follow in my grandparents’ medical footsteps. However, managing this practice revealed my passion for dentistry—a profession that harmoniously blends healthcare with my artistic nature.

I earned my doctoral degree from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, where the foundational pillars are humanism, ethics, and quality of care. My training at Pacific was a natural extension of the philosophies instilled by my family.

Now, as a private, holistic practitioner, I prioritize spending quality time with my patients, ensuring their comfort, and delivering top-notch treatment. My commitment to advanced technology is an extension of my father's wisdom in staying abreast of industry developments. Our training and technologies empower us to go beyond teeth, screening and monitoring airways, spine health, sinuses, carotid arteries, blood pressure, and more. Oral health is deeply intertwined with overall well-being. Our practice holds the profound privilege of hearing patients express, “You saved my life.” This is the pulse of Mitchell Family Dentistry. This is our reason.

Dr. Kent received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry, graduating with high honors. She is a member of two highly prestigious honor societies, Tau Kappa Omega and Omicron Kappa Upsilon, which select students distinguished by excellence in scholarship while demonstrating exemplary traits of character.

Dr. Kent is licensed by the Dental Board of California and is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Society, and the Alameda Dental Society.
